What is Picklefish Productions?

Picklefish Productions is a collaborative mother/daughter team of artists based in Le Claire, Iowa. Sandy and Erin McCullough work together to make concrete and clay figures, that feature contemporary mosaic style work done in tile, stone, and vintage jewelry. Picklefish Productions has a whimsical flair for color and pattern. Picklefish art is often described as fun, it mirrors the spirit of its makers. The Picklefish team typically works in bright striking colors but will take requests to make pieces in colors and themes to suite customer desires, in some cases using customer supplied jewelry, from an aunt or grandmother for example. The pieces made by Picklefish and seen on the website are one of a kind. New figures are always coming to life in the Picklefish studios.

Sandy McCullough started Picklefish Productions to provide a challenging and enjoyable job for Erin. As Erin is someone with Down's Syndrome, the mainstream job market provides a narrow scope of opportunities. So Sandy and Erin became entrepreneurs and set up a studio in their garage. Their work has received local notoriety and well received at art and craft shows. In addition to producing art Picklefish offers classes in the studio for anyone who would like to try their hand at crafting a mosaic piece of art.
